Eggs in a Nest Kids Recipe – Easy

Personal Chef Austin Texas

Ingredients you will need:

2 whole wheat slices of bread

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, or I can’t believe it’s not butter

2 large eggs

Kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

Sheet Pan and Non Stick Cooking Spray

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Use a round food cutter or any kitchen item that is close to 2-3 inch diameter to make a hole in the center of each slice of bread.

Spread the butter to both slices of bread, you can do this step before you cut the bread if you prefer. You can omit the butter if you prefer to not have those extra calories. You can use a non stick pan but if you do not have this you can use aluminum foil, and non stick spray. This is how I prepared these today.

Add the bread slices to the sheet pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes, and then flip; you will now crack an egg into each hole in your bread, season with salt and pepper, and cook for about another 3-5 for runny yolks and about 5-7 minutes for a harder yolk. The time may vary in your oven as well so you will need to figure out how long this takes on your first attempt.

This is a fun recipe if you want to have your kiddo’s participate. I have used this recipe when having a cooking class for small children they seem to enjoy it, and I think they actually enjoy eating it too.
